We Provide Nervous Patient Sedation in DO NOT USE - Use suburb_name

Your Comfort, Our Priority

If the prospect of visiting the dentist makes you feel nervous or uncomfortable, Wellness Dental is here for you. Our compassionate staff will take the time to consult with you at every stage of the process – ensuring you are aware of the steps required. Although  all our dental procedures can be undertaken with no discomfort, we are happy to provide sedation on request for nervous patients. Your comfort is our top priority.

Our dental staff can apply nitrous oxide – also known as ‘laughing gas’ – for all procedures. Nitrous oxide will help you feel numb and relaxed throughout the procedure, though you will still be able to communicate with your dentist throughout. If you are interested in receiving nitrous oxide for your treatment, we will arrange an initial meeting with you so that we can assess your needs and let you know what to expect.

Why Nitrous Oxide?

There are numerous reasons why we at Wellness Dental use nitrous oxides to help keep nervous patients calm during the procedure. Here are just a few of them:

It is Simple to Administer

No injections or IVs are required for nitrous oxide. It can be administered via a face mask, and you only need to breathe normally to feel the sedative effects. What’s more, the effects of nitrous oxide will wear off quickly once the mask is removed when you inhale and exhale normally.

It Has Been Used for Hundreds of Years

‘Laughing gas’ was discovered as far back as 1793 by English scientist John Priestly. Today, it remains one of the most used anaesthetics. This is testament to its effectiveness and high degree of safety.

It is Scalable

One of the main benefits of nitrous oxide is that the level of sedation can be readily increased and decreased as required. This makes it suitable for patients with varying degrees of discomfort.

It Works Quickly

The effects of nitrous oxide can be felt within just 2 to 3 minutes. Additionally, nitrous oxide doesn’t produce any ‘hangover’ effects.

You should feel a tingling sensation in your hands and feet followed by spreading warmth. After this, you will feel a sense of euphoria and relaxation. In some cases, you may hear ringing in your ears or gain the impression that your hearing is distant yet more distinct.
